Potsdam was a really cute town. We went to see some palaces but because the place was so huge, we only settled with two. We couldn’t be bothered to look for the rest lol.

So here’s how an 18th century Prussian Palace looks like:

Here’s how Harry’s name and I look like on the grounds of the Prussian Palace. Pretty lame, I know:

And here’s us dicking around:

The statue I was leaning on had skulls on his skirt:

Normandie Day 2 - Caen

On Friday morning, we headed into Caen to walk around the city. We got croissants and coffee before touring around, seeing the little harbour, the city centre, the restaurant area, the castle, and the shopping district.

We also made reservations at Le Bouchon du Vaugueux, rated (online) as one of the city’s best, for later that night.

Caen was an interesting city. It’s not as especially pretty as other Normandie towns, since it was heavily bombed in the 2nd World War and then later reconstructed. But there are several nice historic buildings left. You can go into the castle, which houses two museums, for free, so we did:

After another boulangerie lunch (I love a good formule - sandwich, drink and pastry for 5-6 euro), we headed out to cider country!

I’m mind-boggled. I know I start @ qcc in about 2 months but I plan on transferring hopefully after one semester-a year. So far I’m thinking of going to SUNY Oswego, Plattsburgh, or Potsdam. I need to go visit the campus before hand.

At the Potsdam train station, they have a huge model of the city on display. I love stuff like this, and miniature “worlds” are pretty popular in Germany. I wish they were more common in the US.
